Assistant Chief Mattie Provost Visits with the Westside Post

HPD Assistant Chief Mattie Provost recently hosted a pizza party for the Westside Explorers to celebrate their recent success at the El Camp Explorer Competition.

Explorer Posts Train Together

Recently, Eastside Post #7525 and Northeast Post #8301 joined forces to train. The two posts went through the Burglary of a Habitation scenario.

It is helpful to cross train with other posts to get a different perspective on tactics.

Northeast and Eastside Explorers

Eastside Explorers joined Northeast Explorers at the Northeast Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center for their weekly training recently.  Mrs. Claire Shynett, a retired psychologist with MHMRA, was invited to speak on Mental Health in the  African American and the Latino Community. As we approach Mental Health Month, it was good for the explorers to discuss some of the common warning signs of mental health. One of the main facts the explorers learned from this presentation is, mental illness is no different from any other health issue such as, diabetes, cancer, or Alzheimer's in that all illnesses can get worse without the proper care and treatment.

Hobby Post #7800 at Hobby Fest

Thanks to Hobby Airport Explorers Z. Gonzalez, J. Valdez, P. Zuniga, and J. Kuhn and their advisors for their help with the "Hobby Fest" recently. The explorers prepared and gave away goodie bags, passed out safety tip brochures, picked up trash, and talked about the explorer program. It was a great day of volunteering!
