Eastside Explorers at Alianza Contra el Crimen at Mason Park

This past weekend, the Eastside Patrol Division held “Alianza Contra el Crimen” at Mason Park in the East End of Houston.

The purpose of the event was to bring the community together and continue a dialogue with the officers who work in the area.

The Eastside Explorers not only assisted with the event, they also presented how they have trained to handle traffic stops. Scenario training helps them when they compete in regional and state Explorer Competitions.

Westside Explorers Advance to Careers of Service

The Exploring Program is a part of Learning for Life. The program is designed to "help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and the nation."

HPD advisors are proud when our explorers choose to continue on a path of community service.

Alon Freeman has graduated from the Houston Community College Peace Officer course.  He recently completed the application process with the Richmond, Texas Police Department.  He will start with that agency later this year.  Explorer Freeman joined the HPD Explorer Program in September 2015. (Pictured with Post Advisor Officer Michael Prause)

James “Jimmy” Cianciolo is currently in Phase II of the HPD hiring process.  He will be taking his comprehension test this month. He joined the Post in August 2016 and currently holds the rank of Explorer Sergeant in the Westside Post.

Jojan Ruales will be leaving to the U.S. Army this month for a 3 year active duty enlistment.  Explorer Ruales is an original Explorer of Post 3203 having joined in July 2014.  He has participated at “State” Competition both years the Westside Post attended.

Congratulations to all!
